Rachel is the perfect balance of coach, cheerleader, inspiration and friend. As a former athlete, my journey did not begin easily. I was full of low self esteem, disbelief and even disgust at the fact that I had fallen so far from my “glory days”. With her as my trainer I was finally able to defeat my biggest obstacle in my journey to a healthier life - myself. Rachel welcomed me with patience and kindness, something I didn’t have for myself.
Rachel goes above and beyond to equip me with knowledge and confidence in myself. She is always readily available to deal with the questions, the low days, the let’s-skip-today days and most importantly, cranking up the notch on the I’m-on-top-of-the-world days. I have been working with Rachel for over three years now and cannot speak highly enough of her. I was an athlete through my undergraduate years and taught yoga while in graduate school. After a series of lingering injuries, both large and small, it seemed that I had hit a plateau with my fitness. Although I was in ‘good shape’, I had been doing essentially the same fitness routine for years and was both exacerbating my injuries and preventing my body from evolving and being challenged. From the beginning, Rachel has respected my own wishes and knowledge of my body while pushing me to try new things and widen my understanding of fitness. I have now done things in the gym that I would not have once thought possible and am happy to say that I am now pain-free. Rachel has challenged me to increase my strength along with my balance and flexibility and I feel strong and fit in a new way. Rachel’s own fitness and her background as an athlete and a gymnast serve as an inspiration and inform her training. She cares deeply about what how I am feeling and what I am learning and always makes me feel heard. As a professional golfer, my fitness is a top priority and I have been working with Rachel for about three years now. Rachel created a clear plan for what I needed to do in the gym to achieve what I wanted to accomplish on the golf course. She has helped me overcome a wrist injury, increase my clubhead speed, and improve my strength and mobility.
